   Bible Memory Program

for All Ages

"How sweet are Thy Words to my taste!
Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"
Psalm 119:103

This program is the 200 Verse Bible Memory Program adapted from the original 300 verses
used for many years by CBM, which was Children's Bible Mission, Inc.
The name has been changed to Children's Bible Ministries, Inc.
 These verses are offered here with their permission.
Once you have completed the 200 verses and would like to go on for the original 300,
you certainly are permitted to do so.

Adults:  If you memorized these verses as a child or teen and would like
to review and recite them again, please contact me.

Our plan is designed to be easy enough so that all can earn a Gospel of John, and difficult enough to challenge the older and exceptional students.

 You should learn the Bible reference (book, chapter and verse) along with the verse.

As much as  possible,  find the verses in the Bible for yourself.  You may memorize the verses from the Bible version or translation of your choice.  The verses listed here are from the King James Version of the Bible.

Memory Program Guidelines

1.  Do not substitute the verses.

2.  Recite your verses to an adult listener such as your Sunday school teacher or a parent or caregiver.

3.  Learn your verses in order.  Do not skip any of the verses.

4.  You should not be prompted or helped more than twice in any set of verses.

5.  Memorize and recite the verses in the exact words of the Scripture.

6.  The following is a suggested number of verses you should recite to your listener:

If you are in First and Second Grades:
Recite at least 1 verse at a time
Third and Fourth Grades:
 Recite at  least 3 verses at a time
Fifth and Sixth Grades:

The Twenty Third Psalm:

The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want.

Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff
they comfort me.

He maketh me lie down
in green pastures;
he leadeth me beside
the still waters.

Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.

He restored my soul;
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days
of my life:
and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord forever.
