The Christmas
Window, cont.

It was late that night when Stan went to bed, but try as he would, he could not forget what he had seen earlier that evening. One thought kept running through his mind, a little blind face at a Christmas window, a little blind face at a Christmas window. Stan could not shut out the picture of Janie's little face.
Finally, he fell asleep! And then he dreamed. In his dream there was a window. But it was not a window full of toys but it was a window from which shone the glories of heaven! There were faces, not of three children, but hundreds of faces. Some of the faces were happy and joyful but other faces were blank. They were blind! Then, in all those faces in his dream, Stan saw the beautiful radiant face of his mother. she was describing what she saw in that window to a young man. Suddenly Stan realized that the young man was himself. Her hand was on his arm but all he could see was darkness.
His mother was speaking, but not to him. She was talking to Someone in the window. "Father, open my son's eyes that he might see the glories of the real Christmas window. Open his eyes that he might see."
All of a sudden Stan was awake, wide awake! It had been many years since he had prayed but he prayed to God in an earnest prayer of confession and repentance and received God's forgiveness!
And, as the dark curtains of unbelief were drawn back, Stan Matthews could see! He could see what his mother saw--the wonderful Lord Jesus--the radiant Christ, who came into the world as a baby, who grew up to become a man, yet God's Son, to give His life on the cross for the sins of the whole world!
Into his troubled heart came peace. A new light was on his face, the glorious light reflected from the Christmas window. A miracle had happened! Stan Matthews, who didn't believe in Christmas, now was looking into the window of Heaven and he could SEE--Jesus, the Son of God!
Has this miracle taken place in YOUR life? Has Jesus opened your eyes? Lots of people are blind at Christmas. They can only see the pretty decorations and the Christmas gifts and the good food--but can't see Jesus. After all it's HIS BIRTHDAY!
Midi Playing:
"Open My Eyes that I May See"
Open my eyes, that I may
see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my eyes,
illumine me, Spirit Divine!
Open my ears that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
and while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my ears, illumine me, Spirit Divine!
Open my mouth, and let me bear
Gladly the warm truth everywhere;
Open my heart, and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready, my God, Thy will to see;
Open my heart, illumine me, Spirit Divine!
