Day 5

5. Good
works as our treasure
James 5

In I Timothy
6:18, Paul wrote,
"Be rich in good works."
Good works are the riches that thieves, fire,
war or death cannot take away from
us.
Jesus called
good works for God
"treasure in Heaven."
We do not see all our treasure now.
It is like money deposited
in a bank or seed sown into the ground.
(James 5:7)
(Gal. 6:7-10).
Though we do not see our treasure being
stored up for us we should appreciate it and gather
it as James 5 teaches.
A. Our treasure is better: verses 1-6
1. than
gold and silver 1-3
2. than sin 4-6
B. Our treasure seen: verses 7-12
1. at the
coming of Christ 7-8
2. when others are condemned 9-12
C. Our treasure gathered: verses 13-20
1. by
prayer 13-18
2. by soul winning 19-20
1. Look
up Proverbs 10:22 and tell one big difference
between earthly and heavenly riches.
