Dr. Hendley at Central Baptist Church, Athens, GA; Dr. Hendley and Preacher Ellison, Pastor
Preacher Hendley often spoke at Central for various meetings and occasions while in Athens for evangelistic crusades.

On a Saturday morning, October 1, 1949, in Athens, GA, with God speaking to my heart through Dr. Jesse Hendley, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour.  I was led to the Lord by my Bible Club teacher, Mrs. Ruth Rhodes who, after the message and at the invitation, walked with me down the "sawdust trail" and I gave my heart and life to Him.
The following Sunday morning, at the church I attended, Central Baptist, I walked down to the front and made a public profession of faith and joined the church.  The following Sunday morning, October 9, I was baptized by my pastor.

My sister Bobbie's baptism at Crooked Creek--double exposure film which I think is so precious  since it shows her baptism and stepping into new life in the same picture.
