Jesus:  a Stone Most Precious!

"Search me, Oh God, and know my heart;

I Saw God Wash the World Last Night

I saw God wash the world last night
And in the morning sun
Each blade of grass and tree and flower
Each little wing of bird and bee
Glistened in its purity.
I saw God wash the world last night!

I saw God wash a camp last night;
He washed them every one.
Each stain of  lust, of pride, and hate,
Of evil thoughts or sinful state,
And in their place gave purity.
I saw God wash a camp last night!

I saw God wash each precious soul
Dear souls for whom Christ died;
With gifts of grace and love and joy--
Forgiveness--gifts without alloy
He showered upon each upturned face.
I saw God wash sinful hearts last night!

Like rain drops glistening in the sun
God's jewels--just begun!
Oh, mould and shape and fashion, Lord
By thine own hand and Holy Word
Until each facet flashes fire--
