Day 3
The Book of James, cont.
III. Good Works for our Tongues
Notice
how thrilling the words of the
Lord were on the road to Emmaus. (Luke 24:32
and how faithful were the words of Job,
(Job 2:9, 10; 42:7, 8;)
how instructive were the words of the ancient Israelite,
(Deut. 6:4-7)
and how important are your own words. (James 3)
A. Your words show what you think
of others. Verse 1

falls to his own master.

tell you what He thinks
of you.

tongue. 7-8

Study Ephesians 4:25-32 and find a verse that teaches each of
six things above. When you have found the verse in Ephesians
that
goes with a word, put its number in the space after the word.
Write in your own words what you learn by comparing James 3:2-4
and Matthew 12:33-35.

"Boys
flying kites haul in their white-winged birds;
You can't do that when you are flying words.
"Careful with fire" is good advice, we know;
"Careful with words" is ten times doubly so.
Thoughts unexpressed may sometimes fall back dead;
But not a thing can kill them when they're said."
Day 4
IV.
Good works in spite of temptations.
James 4
When the
flood drowned Noah's unbelieving neighbors,
Noah could continue his work for God. There is

in perfect safety, we have the Lord Jesus.
While studying James 4, the path of good works through

ability to keep you free from sin as taught in
